THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION LEARNING PROCESS AS SEEN FROM THE LEVEL OF STUDENTS' LEARNING MOTIVATION BASED ON GENDER AT SD 4 PRAYA

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of student learning motivation in physical education based on gender among at SDN 4 Praya. This research is descriptive quantitative, with a population of 92 students and a sample of 51 students. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire consisting of 10 indicators, namely: (1) Participation in physical education learning in the field, (2) Practicing at home/outside school, (3) Attitudes toward movement difficulties in physical education learning, (4) Efforts to overcome difficulties in physical education material, (5) Habits in participating in physical education learning, (6) Enthusiasm in participating in physical education learning, (7) Desire to excel in physical education learning, (8) Qualification of physical education learning outcomes, (9) Perseverance in practicing physical education material, and (10) Utilizing opportunities outside of physical education lessons. The initial number of statements was 40 items, and after the validity test, 27 statements remained. The results of this study indicate that student motivation in physical education learning at SDN 4 Praya varies significantly based on gender. Specifically, 44.8% of male students reported being active in physical education learning in the field, while only 34.5% of female students showed a similar level of activity. In addition, male students also exhibited higher levels of self-confidence and competence compared to female students, as shown by the finding that 58.6% of male students did not shy away when asked to practice movements, compared to 54.5% of female students.
