Playing is a fun activity for early childhood so that children really enjoy doing it. Through playing, teachers can stimulate children's brain performance through learning media by using educational games. The problem in this study is the low ability of children to recognize number symbols and recognize number concepts, especially group A at Dahlia Darmaji Kindergarten. The object in this study used a sample population of 15 children. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of playing number cards on the development of symbolic thinking of group A children at Dahlia Darmaji Kindergarten in the 2019/2020 academic year. This type of research is quantitative research. The method in this study uses the observation method as the main method, documentation and interview methods as complementary methods. While the data analysis method uses statistical analysis with the t-test formula. Based on the results of the data analysis, the t-count obtained was 16.82 while the t-table value with a significance level of 5% with dk = N-1 = (15-1) = 14 was 1.761. This fact shows that the t-test value obtained in this study is > t-table value (16.82>1.761) which means significant, so the conclusion in this study is: There is an effect of playing number cards on the development of symbolic thinking in group A children at Dahlia Darmaji Kindergarten.
